Shopping and collection from our Petworth Shop during COVID 19

  • Monitoring the number of customers that can reasonably follow 2m social distancing within the store and allowing for safe queuing outside.

  • Provision of hand sanitising gel on entering and leaving the shop, staff also wear masks. 

  • Limiting the number of customers in the store, overall and in any particular congestion areas, for example doorways., while following a one-way system.

  • Suspending or reducing customer services that cannot be undertaken without contravening social distancing guidelines. This will include re-thinking how assistance is provided, for example, using fixed staff to lift furniture rather than a single colleague lifting with a customer.

  • Encouraging customers to shop alone where possible, unless require specific assistance.

  • Please remember that customers who are accompanied by children are responsible for supervising them at all times and should follow social distancing guidelines.

  • Ensuring any changes to entries, exit and queue management take into account reasonable adjustments for those who need them, including disabled shoppers.

  • Using outside premises for queuing where available and safe on our pavement and safely into the square.

  • Having clearly designated positions from which colleagues can provide advice or assistance to customers whilst maintaining social distance.

  • Collection from the shop can be arranged in advance and we can arrange to bring the goods to a car parked outside the shop, with payment being taken over the phone or contactless on collection.
